Checkpoint construction not affecting traffic

Worries about the effect of construction of the interim checkpoint on freeway traffic appear to be groundless. Several observations at the work site on I-19 north of Tubac revealed that the restriction of northbound vehicles to one lane was not impeding the steady flow of traffic.
With the primary impediment still being the temporary checkpoint at the Agua Linda interchange, resulting in long lines at certain times, the construction merely causes traffic to approach those lines at a slower speed.
Interviews of tourists at the Tubac-Santa Cruz Visitor Center reveal that those wishing to visit Tubac were either unaware or undeterred by the construction.
